Loughborough University enters top 10 of UK universities

    Loughborough University
Enters Top 10 of UK Universities

I was pleased to be able to write to you recently with news that Loughborough had topped the Times Higher Education’s Student Experience Survey. I am able to write with more good news today. Loughborough University has been ranked as one of the top 10 universities in the country by the new 2017 Complete University Guide.

We have leapt to our highest ever ranking of 7th place in the guide out of 127 institutions (up from 11th last year). We are the fastest riser in the top 20 and the top ranked university in the Midlands.

This year we have overtaken the universities of Warwick, Lancaster, Surrey and Exeter. The Guide describes Loughborough as “truly a top class university with satisfied students and fantastic Graduate Prospects”. Rankings always fluctuate and I should be clear that universities do go up and down on an annual basis, but Loughborough’s long-term trajectory is firmly upwards.

The league table is based on ten measures: the results of the National Student Survey, research quality, research intensity, entry standards, student to staff ratio, spending on academic services, spending on student facilities, good honours degrees achieved, graduate prospects and completion.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you: colleagues, students, alumni and all our partners for contributing to this success and making it possible. This is a very significant achievement for the University and It is a direct consequence of your hard work and support: I am most grateful to you.

You can find the full rankings in the Complete University Guide here.
